Glacier Brewhouse Restaurant

A great place to spend the evening. Service was good and the food was delicious. We had the garlic prawns, grilled salmon, Veg pasta and peanut pie

Loved this place. Service was great, and the good was even better. I really like the ambiance. The place is large, but the tables are not crowded.

We had the garlic shrimp appetizer. It had about 8 huge simp that were really tender. I had the aged ribeye. It was cooked perfectly but wasn’t as tender as I was expecting. My daughter had the shrimp and gris. Again, it’s really great shrimp with creamy cheese grits. My son had the special, which was halibut stuffed with king crab. He really enjoyed it.

I had the house home-made root beer. It was good, but nothing special. My daughter had the blackberry – basil lemonade. Unique taste that was very enjoyable.

We finished our meal with crème brûlée.

While there was plenty of ambient noise, it wasn’t loud, and I was able to hear and participate in the conversations.

Great experience!

I didn’t know what I was missing — the Salmon grilled over Alaskan Alderwood was the best Salmon I have ever eaten. The roasted yukon potatoes and brussels sprouts were a perfect side and somehow the scallops were even better — I could have eaten a plateful of them for almost any price.

I am a tougher reviewer than most people — and eating here reminds me of why I think many people are too quick to give 5 stars everywhere they put a fork in their mouth (I call them culinary plebs). Their pointless reviews render a 5-star rating more or less meaningless. But when a restaurant as special as the Glacier Brewhouse comes along, which truly deserves a 5-star rating they should be set apart as such — 5 stars all the way.

Pretty extensive menu all around. Calamari is legitimately the best I’ve ever had. Fish and chips was well seasoned but you can tell it was breaded wet and fried too hot in old oil. And sauceless coleslaw – WHO DOES THAT! They claim to have world famous bread pudding but if that’s how you treat coleslaw, I couldn’t bring myself to order it.

Recommended by two tour guides and did not disappoint. The food was excellent, and the limited selection of in-house craft beer still had a variety to suit any taste. If you have a question about which beer to select, the server provided a sample.

The Amber paired best with my seared ahi. The Indian IPA that I tried was a little too hoppy to match my meal. With a train delivering 2 cruise ships worth of passengers a few minutes before, they were slammed.

We were told it would be a 30-minute wait for a table and the buzzer went off 2 minutes later. The server was a little overwhelmed but soldiered through. The ahi was perfectly prepared and the Wasabi aoli added just the right flavor.

  finally

Glacier Brewhouse was recommended by our tour guide, and I’m so glad she mentioned it because I don’t think we would have stopped in otherwise. We didn’t get to eat, but we had a few different beers and each was phenomenal. We came in late, less than an hour before closing, but every staff member we encountered was super friendly.
